Silly Shot Collage of Your Bridal Party

Photo courtesy of Kristen Weaver Photography

Silly shots of each of the members of your bridal party will make a memorable wedding photo collage that is shades of the Brady Bunch! Have each person mug for the camera then put it together as a wedding party collage. Way more fun than those ho hum wedding party photos you usually see! Contact Kristen Weaver Photography for other great ideas for photography for your wedding day.

Heart Stealer--Ring Bearers Who Can Steal Your Heart (and The Show)

Ring bearers can steal your heart (and the show) at your wedding. The photo above is one easy way to make your ring bearer stand out without him being miserable in a monkey suit. Your ring bearer doesn't have to wear a mini-tuxedo. Instead try some comfortable pants, suspenders and a cute hat. This ring bearer will steal the heart of all your guests. So think outside the box when you are planning what your ring bearer will wear--it can pay off in great photos and a happy ring bearer.

The Ring Bearer Steals The Show

You know how they say 'never work with children or dogs'? This photo is why. The ring bearer steals the show with this shot of a oh so cool ring bearer and the rest of the groomsmen in the background. I bet this kid had to be dragged kickin' and screamin' into wanting to be in this wedding--seems he's changed his tune! Visit Jeff Kolodny Photo and Video for more ideas for great pictures or to see if Jeff is available to shoot your wedding or special event.

Here Comes The Bride

Instead of trashing the dress, save it and take a cute photo of your daughter in it, then save it and give it to her on her wedding day. A personal mother to daughter wedding gift that can't be beat! So cute! She looks so adorable!

So don't trash your dress, don't store it forever and guilt trip your daughter into wearing it, use it as a great photo prop instead.

Dressing Your Flower Girl

Yellow, navy and white. A perfect combination for a summer wedding. I love the photo of this flower girl. She's not a mini-bride, instead she is just a little girl in a pretty dress not trying to look like she's twenty-five instead of eight. Keep in mind when you're choosing a flower girl's dress that she isn't meant to be a mini-bride. Keep her dress (and her shoes) age appropriate.

Changing Gender Roles In Weddings

Flickr member PortraitsofGrace

Want a differnt take on a 'flower girl?' How about a cute guy tossing petals as he walks down the aisle?

So in the effort of proving that more than one person has done this (and you won't be the only one) see the photo above of yet another 'flower guy' strewing petals as he goes down the aisle. He sure looks like he's having fun!

Indiana University of Pennsylvania sociology professor, Robert Heasley who is also the president of the American Men's Studies’ Association notes that weddings are one of the last institutions strictly holding onto sex roles. He is quoted as saying:

“We continue to have the marriage ceremony, but we’re slowly changing it to represent the greater balance of the genders,” he said. “It’s a significant shift to have the male be the flower girl because it introduces a male who represents gentility, flowers and femininity. It’s just another step toward the dismantling of the patriarchal formation of the marriage.”

So if you're willing to be a little bit out there and have a guy friend who doesn't take himself too seriously, this is a great way to make sure people talk about your wedding for years to come.

And The Bridal Couple Were In Color

Source: google.com via Lucy on Pinterest

Don't you love the color on black and white background in this photo?

The bride and groom certainly appear to be enjoying the wedding, and their guests as well! Looks like good shot to show your photographer to see if he or she can do something similar for you.

If anyone knows who the photographer is for this photo, please let me know, would love to touch base with them and feature their work!

Parasol Photo: Shadow and Light

Source: khMasonPhotography

The parasol photo is a perfect combination of shadow and light. Sometimes photographers just get the composition perfect! This photo is one of those times. Original source cropped from photo pinned, so added khMasonPhotography source for you.

A simple shadow, perfectly placed. What more needs to be said.  If you are a bride carrying a parasol, it's a thought. But it would take very careful set up and the perfect lighting and bride. It does inspire though!

Dogs and Weddings?

Source: google.com via Cindee on Pinterest

Black and white pooches following you down the aisle? Do you want to add dogs to your wedding? This is a very personal choice, and if your dogs aren't the best behaved at the dog park you might want to reconsider.

The combination of the crowd at your ceremony along with the unusual surroundings and an organ playing is tough on the dogs, so if yours are used to being paraded around at the dog show, great, if not, be very careful! Cute yes, as long as they don't have a problem with the noise and crowds--unsightly disasters could occur. (But Audrey Hepburn sure makes it look easy, not to mention gorgeous!)

Rings On Your Fingers, Photo of Rings

Source: tumblr.com via Kimberly on Pinterest

I came across this great photo on Pinterest. I fell in love with it. One of my favorite photos in wedding albums is seeing how different photographers do the 'ring shot.' Loved this one so thought I'd share my... addiction with you! (Sorry I don't have a link for the photographer, if anyone knows whose work this is, let me know, I'd love to give them credit for their work!)

Why Hire A Videographer?

(Video posted on La Paperterie Diva) by NKG Studio

This video is one of the best reasons I've found for saving your money to have a quality video made of your wedding day.  It captures moments that wouldn't have been as poignant in a still photo, the joy, the laughter and the fun of the day all shine through on this wedding video by NKG Studio (see link above).

Winery Wedding Ring Photo

Having your wedding at a winery? This pic of your rings tells the story perfectly! From Kristen Gardner Photo Blog.  Love how the rings fit perfectly on the curve of the grapes and how the dark purple of the grapes hint at the sweetness of married life.

Here Comes The Bride

Love this idea! The photo is great but the idea is better! Add it to the DIY projects for your wedding. It doesn't need any directions, just add the cute kid and the sign!

Snowy Wedding In Wisconsin

Photos Courtesy of Green Wedding Shoes

Some brides pray for NO SNOW on their wedding day.  But this bride and groom were prepared for the elements and embraced them as part of their wedding.  This creative couple and their photographer, Love Is A Big Deal took to the outdoors at this Wisconsin wedding surrounded by snow.

The red accent sweater and the groom's tie are perfect foils for photos as well as practical. (Although I'm SURE the bride is still cold...brr!)

The bride (shown in the photo on the left looks adorable in her hat, her lipstick and sweater coordinating perfectly.  On the right? Her groom gets used to giving his new bride a ride, but on a sled, with, what else? red runners! See the rest of the photos on Green Wedding Shoes and the photographers web site, Love Is A Big Deal.  This wedding shoot offers all brides planning a winter wedding some great ideas for photos and wedding details. So if you're getting married in the winter, there's no need to think your photos or your wedding day will be less than romantically creative with the right bride and groom and a good photographer.

A Bride, A Groom and a Ring Bearer

'I love Carly!' How cute is this photo! Of course I'm a sucker for it, my daughter who is wedding planning right now is named 'Carly' so it's a definite thought! Now all I need is a good place to write on the ground!  If your venue has a spot for a photo like this it would make an interesting shot.  Turn your photographer onto my site, mark the photos you'd like replicated.  Easier than a vague description of what you want--for both of you.
